Community Involvement

Making a Difference

Community involvement is very important to Johannes Bus Service, Inc. We don't want to forget where we came from or how the community has helped us grow. We believe giving back to the community is just as important as providing the best service possible. Whether we're working on a large or small project; you will still get the same enthusiastic commitment. Listed below are some of the highlights over the past four decades.

  • Since 2009 with a donation of our services we have been an underwriter sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

  • Since 1985 we have been sponsoring a team with the Rock Island Girls Slow-Pitch Softball Association.

  • Since 1995 we have been participating in the Adopt-a-Highway Program in conjunction with Keep Rock Island Beautiful. We were the first business to participate in the clean-up program and we currently are one of the longest running participants in the program keeping our roadways clean in Rock Island.

  • Since October of 1982 we have been involved with the Milan Improvement Projects (MIP) Craft Fair; donating buses to transport fair goers to and from Ericksen Chevrolet to a nearby parking lot. The craft show is always the first Sunday of May and October.

  • For the first time in 2009, we donated our services to transport children for the Rock Island Kiwannis Club to get some deserving children new winter coats!

  • We have worked with many other agencies over the last 46 years, like the AT&T Pioneer Shoes Program donating our services to transport area children to get shoes and boots and winter coats.

  • The countless school carnivals and fairs that we have donated our pencils, rulers or sharpeners to; and the many events that we have donated silent auction items to are endless. We have so enjoyed helping in whatever way we can.
